Financial support for businesses due to the impact of COVID-19
The Chancellor announced a number of reliefs in order to support residents and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic during March. In total, the government will guarantee £330bn of loans to businesses, as well as a range of other support.
The government has confirmed that businesses eligible for Small Business Rate Relief or Rural Rate Relief on the 11th March 2020 will be eligible to receive a business support grant of £10,000.
Grants will also be available to businesses that were eligible for the expanded Retail Relief on 11th March. For properties with a rateable value of up to £15,000 the grant will be £10,000; for properties with a rateable value of between £15,001 and £50,999, the grant will be £25,000.
Grants will be available per property and will subject to State Aid de minimis rules.
